Violet Voss Ride or Die first impressions and swatches.

Hello lovelys! So thank you to Beauty Bay I managed to get my hands on the Violet Voss Ride or Die palette!!! It still broke the bank a little at £70 but it beat ordering from the US and having to pay customs, plus one of the shadows is called “Emma” and I just couldn’t stop myself.

This palette has some stunning shadow colours, my  favourites are Sarah and Amy, and one of the best things about this palatte is that since it has such a wide range of colours so many different looks can be created which I feel justifies the price tag!

To keep these in their colour groups I did them from the top of the palette to the bottom. All swatches are named from left to right.

  • Michelle – Satin white, lovely base colour or subtle brow bone higlight
  • Fiona – Metallic pearl

  • Alice – Matte burnt orange, slightly darker than Kaitlin
  • Riley – Very warm orange
  • Sarah – Warm reddish brown

  • Leslie – Matte Beige, beautiful transition shade for my skin tone
  • Isabella – Metallic rosey pale pink
  • Holly – Metallic brown with strong red undertones
  • Scarlett – Metallic brown, strong red undertones, pulls more copper than Holly
  • Andrea – Metallic cranberry
  • Amy – Matte red wine/cranberry

I absolutely adore this palette and look forward to creating many different looks with it, being vegan and cruelty free is an extra bonus point as well. The colours are mainly warm toned but there are some cool toned in there too which creates the perfect balance. The shadows applied well during the swatches, although some of the matte shadows did start off a little patchy but I feel that may be because I was using my finger and once built up it blended together beautifully. They all felt very buttery and smooth. Another thing I love about this product is the packaging. I’m not a big fan of the leopard print and the big bow, kinda seems a bit tacky to me,  but what I do love is how sturdy and strong it feels. It comes with a huge mirror inside and even though the palette itself is big that doesn’t make it bulky, the shadows just feel protected. If you’ve tried any of the violet voss palettes you’ll know what I mean, For 42 full sized pans I think this palette is well worth the £70 price tag, it seems expensive but broken down that’s less than £2 per shadow! This would be a wonderful palette for someone getting into makeup because of how may different colours it has, no need for many different palettes when you can just have 1.
